The world’s most important band is currently prepping new songs before it hits the studio later this year, presumably to record its seventh full-length, what will be the follow-up to 2003’s staggering “Hail to the Thief.” Much has been made of Thom Yorke’s upcoming solo record, “The Eraser”—an electronics-heavy excursion of songs that, while impressive in their morbidity, don’t have the bite of Radiohead fare—but none of these songs have been played by the band, as of yet, on this tour. “Nude,” a much-beloved, unrecorded song that dates back to the “OK Computer” era, has made its way on to set lists, causing quite a stir among super-fans that it finally may make it on to a record. It’ll be a while before the band releases an album proper—the current estimation is early spring of 2007—but with this tease-tour, plus Yorke’s solo deal, the wait seems shorter. (Tom Lynch)
