Guitarist Henry Johnson is known for his stints with Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson and Ramsey Lewis, but is also a fixture on the gospel and R&B circuit. Johnson will take the lead here in this special installment in the summer-long “Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz” series, which seeks to highlight the ways in which the Chicago jazz scene continues to influence musicians from around the globe. He joins organist Chris Foreman and arranger, conductor and former Chicagoan Johnny Pate, who will conduct several of his own pieces with Johnson’s band, which will be graced with the regal vocal stylings of legendary vocalist Nancy Wilson, a longtime collaborator with both Pate and Johnson.
