Caliber Entertainment’s long-running Therapy night has hit a nice rhythm this summer, bringing diverse lineups to the venerable neighborhood hang Moonshine. Tonight’s installment features DJ Warp and Nick Maurer (Greenskeepers). You might recognize Warp (Brian Keigher) as half of the duo behind Bombay Beatbox (alongside Radiohiro), the popular monthly party with a world perspective. You might also recognize Warp as the man at the Department of Cultural Affairs who spearheads the popular SummerDance series. Maurer, of course, is the owner of the capricious vocal chords that add an impish presence to Greenskeepers productions like “Lotion,” and “Can I Sing Like This.” Tonight, look for DJ Warp to cover the more atmospheric/electronic side of things, as he tends to draw upon his roots in Atmospheric Audiochair to bring a beautiful influx of noise and rhythm. As for Maurer, his sets sometimes reflect his carnival spirit…precision-yet-freaky cuts, from disco to jack, served up in a funhouse mirror. If we’re lucky, he’ll drop some previews from the Greenskeepers’ eagerly awaited fall-release album, set to drop via Om Records. Therapy residents Nate Manic and Ambit will provide additional sounds.
