Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy may not have the captivating stage presence of some of his contemporaries, but he does have the presence of mind to give the people what they want: a killer party. Expect Meloy’s show to have a campfire sing-a-long atmosphere with a couple of Decemberists favorites sprinkled among a covers-driven set list (he’s been known to tackle The Smiths, R.E.M. and Sam Cooke). And before seeing Colin Meloy sing live, listen to his new solo offering, “Colin Meloy Sings Live!” which is chock full of witty banter with the audience, as well as “the worst song I ever wrote,” an awful pop clunker called “Dracula’s Daughter,” featuring the line, “You think you have it bad/Try having Dracula for your dad.” Thankfully, the other songs are pretty good.
