Preview: Launch Pad/Flight Deck: Josh Dahlberg, Drew Pompa and Jared Wilson

 Enjoying great success with their monthly in Debonair’s basement, techno/IDM promoter Ramp Chicago recently expanded its influence with a new weekly showcase at Sura Thai Bistro, a Lakeview restaurant with techno-friendly futuristic décor and a killer five-dollar Pad Thai dinner special. Three Thursdays of the month, Launch Pad showcases the sounds of Chicago’s up-and-coming DJs along with resident Liz Revision, offering the best of techno, house and IDM. The remaining Thursday of the month, Flight Deck features well-established talent from Chicago and elsewhere. This month’s Flight Deck welcomes several talented young producers and DJs from Detroit—Blank Artists crew’s Drew Pompa and Josh Dahlberg, along with Jared Wilson. Blank Artists’ crew of techno, house and electro junkies has been consistently cranking out tunes for their own label and recently wowed crowds at this summer’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Flight Deck will be the last stop on a summer tour for Wilson, Pompa and Dahlberg, which took them from Detroit to New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C., among other cities.
