In September local indie-pop band Scotland Yard Gospel Choir’s van crashed on a highway in Indiana. Several of the band members were seriously injured—no fatalities, thankfully—but extreme medical bills are mounting for the musicians. Also, most of the band’s equipment was destroyed. Fellow local indie-poppers The 1900s and Brighton, MA (which features ex-Choir members) play a benefit tonight in an effort to raise funds for the band’s escalating bills. Tonight should be to the emotional benefit of the ailing band as well, as local support could at least, even a little bit, lift some spirits. (Don’t forget that The 1900s and Brighton, MA are a couple of pretty damn good bands as well.) Come on out and show your support. (Tom Lynch)
